Community Policing Advisory Group (CPAG)

The Camden Community Policing Advisory Group was formed in 1999 to help the department build bridges with the community. This committee meets on a monthly basis and has done much to help the department and the community as a whole.

The CPAG was formed as the result of the report of the Police/Community Task Force.

Our mission is to advocate community policing by maintaining, strengthening and broadening the relationship with police and community through communications, problem identification, and problem resolution. We focus on:

  • Being a resource for current issues
  • Enhancing community partnerships
  • Planning for the future
Our role is:
  1. To strengthen bridges between the police and the community.
  2. To assist in problem identification and solving.
  3. To act as a resource group for the police and the community.
  4. To be an advocate for the police within the community and the community with the police.
  5. To work on programs with a town-wide perspective.
  6. To help look toward and plan for the future.
  7. To be a vehicle for communication between the police and the community.
The department wishes to thank each of these members for the time and effort they provide to the group. If you, or someone you know, would like to serve on this important committee please let us know. (Click Here)

Camden Triad

The Camden Police Department in conjunction with Camden Triad is offering the Medical Alert Emergency Information program. This program is designed for senior citizens or residents with special medical needs.

We are offering two forms of this program. The first is a magnetic plastic pouch containing a medical alert information form. This form is filled out by the resident and placed in the pouch, which is then attached to the refrigerator. A copy of this form is also sent to the Police Department where the information will be entered into the computer.

The purpose of this program is to provide important medical information to rescue personnel should that information become needed and the patient unable to communicate with rescuers.

The second form of the program allows residents to register this information with the Police Department by way of this web-site. In the FORMS page of the web-site one can submit the Medical Alert information to us. The information submitted is confidential and would only be provided to rescue personnel under appropriate circumstances. The information gathered is:

Address:
Date of Birth:       Phone number:
Family Doctor
Doctors Phone Number
Preferred Hospital
Medications      Dosage    Frequency      Location   Medical Conditions

House Check Program

The Camden Police Department has for years requested that residents who are going to be away from their homes for an extended period of time, and who would like to have the department check on their home while they are gone, notify us.

As part of this program we ask that you provide us with the date of your departure, your anticipated date of return, a phone number where you can be reached, and the name and phone number of a local contact person.

Special Condition Program

This program is designed to allow residents to register specific special conditions regarding their property or occupants with the police department. Examples of special conditions would include disabled adult occupants, autistic or special needs child, protective dog, etc. These special conditions would be added to the departments computer system and would be provided to responding officers if appropriate.
